Now I'm pretty tech savvy, but I had never used any kind of a program like MediaShout before. MediaShout, at first, was incredibly intimidating to me. And I wasn't sure about what the support would look like, because it really didn't tell you much about it on the website, so we went with MediaShout. When I went and looked at the other program, it didn't have any kind of a free trial. And also, I had live phone support and lots and lots of tutorials and things to teach me about it. And during that 30-day free trial period, I was able to learn how to use the program. One of the things I love best about MediaShout, and one of the reasons we made that decision to go that direction, is because it gave us a 30-day free trial. So I went online and I started to do some research. When we started looking for programs, I had heard of MediaShout and I had heard of ProPresenter. But I had seen the program MediaShout being used in another small church, and I thought, "Well, maybe this would be something that would make the church run more smoothly on a Sunday morning." So we started looking at programs, MediaShout and others as well. When I came to work at this church, there was no media program at all. If this folder was previously used as a repository and you wish to only migrate the data FROM the program currently, you would want to check this setting.Karen: My name is Karen. Choose whether to check “Replace Files in Repository” - if this is a new empty folder, this would not have to be checked.Choose which items you wish to sync at this time.Under Repository, select the folder that you created on your Desktop and the path should appear there.Open the sync tab of ProPresenter 6 preferences.
More information on Media Management can be found here. Check the box and restart the software to confirm this has enabled properly. If this is unchecked, you will want to enable this to ensure your Media files properly move across to the new machine. Make sure the box next to “Manage Media Automatically” is checked.Open the General tab of ProPresenter 6 Preferences.Create a folder on your desktop and name it “ProPresenter Sync” or something similar.If you are updating to the new version of ProPresenter and would like to migrate your information from ProPresenter 6 from a different computer, you will want to follow the steps listed here.
